SÃO PAULO PROJECT

Archival work is a lonely endeavor. It is also a fascinating, at times whimsical, experience. I have spent a good chunk of the past few years immersed in such work, leading me to accumulate thousands of pictures of documents. Some I have used, some I have yet to read. Some became databases, some belong to particular sets, some are one-hit-wonders. Regardless, no amount of time I have spent or will ever spend with these documents will be enough to exhaust their potential. Because I firmly believe in such statement, and because I also believe there is no need for others to reinvent a wheel that is in perfect conditions, making my archival work available to others was bound to happen whenever the appropriate starts aligned. And so here we are. As of now, the repository comprises roughly 800 documents, divided into two distinct funds. The databases were originally built on a SQL software and have been cleaned and converted into simple spreadsheet formats. They are, however, encoded in Portuguese, and that might require some attention.
